Black Stars Take First Training Later Today
The Black Stars’ first training session in preparation for their third round of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament qualifier against Falcons of Jediane will take place late Monday afternoon, according to a schedule released by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
In all, they will have three training sessions before the crucial match on Thursday, October 10.
All 25 players handed call-ups are expected to be in the country before the first training. So far, eight players are confirmed to have arrived.
They include Mohammed Kudus, Fatawu Issahaku, Joojo Wollacot, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Antoine Semenyo, Elisha Owusu, and Jordan Ayew.
The first training which will be open to the media will take place at 4:30 pm in Accra and will be followed by another session on October 8 behind closed doors at the same time.
The last training session will be held on October 9 at a yet-to-be-decided time.
Twenty-five players have been called for a doubleheader against Coach James Kwesi Appiah-led Sudan. The first leg will be hosted by the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, October 10, 2024, while the return leg will take place in Libya on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
Ghana are currently third in Group F with just one point from a loss and a draw creating uncertainty around their qualification for the tournament.
The Black Stars lost their opening qualifier by 1-0 to Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and drew 1-1 against Niger in their second game.
