Black Stars Arrive In Kumasi after Bamako Triumph
The Black Stars of Ghana have arrived in Kumasi ahead of yet another decisive match against Central Africa Republic (CAR) following their glorious comeback win in Bamako.
They arrived in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region hours after their game in Bamako to prepare for the next clash which comes off on Monday.
Videos of their arrival showed them deboarding amid welcoming cheers from some elated Ghanaians.
The Black Stars came from behind to stun Mali by 2-1.
The opponent took the lead seconds to half time thanks to Mamadou Doumbia but a determined Coach Otto Addo’s side found an equalizer through Olympique Lyonnais’ forward Ernest Nuamah.
After minutes of desperate search for the winner by both teams, substitute Jodan Ayew did the magic with his injury-time strike, claiming all three points for Ghana.
The triumph sent Ghana to the second spot on the Group I table with six points- the same as unbeaten Comoros who lead the log.
Ghana will play against the Central Africa Republic on June 10, 2024, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and will need a convincing score to boost their hope of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
