Black Princesses Take On Senegal In Next World Cup Qualifier
Black Princesses have departed for Senegal for the next round of their African U-20 World Cup qualification game.
The girls left the country on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, and will play the first leg on January 13, 2024. The game will be hosted at the Stade Lat Dior at 5 pm.
Coach Yusif Basigi has selected 23 girls from different clubs in the country and beyond for the assignment which began in October 2023 and has been more than successful so far.
The squad include Comfort Yeboah, Anoma Abena Opoku, Abiba Issa, Hannah Nyame, Sarah Kulible, Fatimatu Fuseini, Faiza Abdul Rashid- defenders and midfielders Wasiima Mohammed, Success Amenyaa, Berline Nyarkoh, Tracey Twum and Helen Alormenu.
For the goalpost, Coach Basigi selected Afi Aenyaku and Debora Brown with Maafia Nyame, Abigail Sakyiwaa, Mary Amponsah, Persis Martha Oteng, Salamatu Abdulai, Faiza Seidu, Comfort Owusu, Jacqueline Amponsah and Jenifer Owusu as attackers.
The return leg will be played on Sunday, January 21 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The Princesses have won all the qualifiers they have played so far. They thumped Guinea Bissau 3 nil in both legs.
In their game against Eswatini, Ghana won by 6-1 away from home and then sealed the resounding victory with 2-0 in the return leg.
