Beware of Your Decisions Now; Serwaa Amihere to the Youth

Media personality Serwaa Amihere has counselled young ladies and gentlemen to be circumspect in the choices and decisions they make in their youthful age.

She warned that those decisions could haunt them in the near future and cause havoc.

Falling on her bitter experience last year which witnessed the circulation of her intimate videos on social media, she emphasized the need for young people to be cautious.

“There are so many young people here and you need to be careful about the choices you make today. Please be extremely careful and picky of the decisions you make while you are young…because six, seven, five, three {or} two years later, they will come back and bite you really hard in the face and that’s exactly what happened to me last year.”

Speaking at the Ignite Youth Empowerment Thanksgiving Service, she shed insight into the impact the incident had on her health and confidence.

She shared how the development left her depressed, shedding tears quite often and disconnected from everyone who was close.

However, she said she was lucky to have come across Obuobia Darko-Opoku who provided the much-needed support at the time, aiding her in her recovery.

“I was depressed actually. I’m sure many of you didn’t see me cry which never happened but she {Obuobia} did. I was in my house that day and she came and said let’s go buy ice cream. I wasn’t talking to anyone but she came to pick me up, took me to Osu and I was trying to wear a cap and she was like ‘Why? Don’t cover your face. Let’s go’. She bought me an ice cream, a big {one}. Then we took a long ride.”
