Bawumia To Finally Address Ghanaians On The Economy

The head of Ghana’s Economic Management Team (EMT), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will address Ghanaians on the economy for the first time in a long time today.

He will be at Kasoa in the Central region of Ghana as the main speaker at the New Patriotic Party’s National Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) Training and Orientation Conference.

The event will be held at the Millenium City at Yesukrom at Kasoa at exactly 1 pm.

The event is an initiative of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth Wing in collaboration with the Danquah Institute, a political think tank based in Accra.

Since the announcement of the Electronic Transfers Levy (E-levy), a 1.5% levy placed on some electronic transactions, and the subsequent depreciation of the Ghana cedi against major currencies leading to inflation and economic hardship, nothing has been heard from Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the economist.

A section of the general public has been taken aback by his “loud silence”.
