Ato Forson Demands Apology For Report That Finance Committee Bagged GHC40k Each After Meeting In Koforidua
Member of Parliament for Ajumako Enyan Essiam constituency in the Central Region of Ghana, Cassiel Ato Forson is demanding an apology from StatsGh, a blog, over a tweet it made about members of the Finance Committee.
According to the tweet from the blog, Members of the committee met in Koforidua for a meeting after which each of them bagged home an amount of GHc40,000 as allowance while their drivers took home GHc1,800 each minus a tax of GHc400.
In reaction to this, Ato Forson denied it.
“As ranking member on the finance c’tee, I state without equivocation that:
- I have neither been invited to any such meeting nor travelled to Koforidua this year!
- I’ve not been paid a pesewa for any such meeting!”, he tweeted.
He is, therefore, requesting an apology and a retraction of the news item.
“ @StatsGH you need to retract and apologise for this falsehood”, he demanded.
