The Ghana Police Service says adequate measures are in place to maintain law and order in the constituency.
Meanwhile, it has cautioned the public against spreading disinformation on the election.
Vacancy
In a letter dated May 29, Parliament notified the Electoral Commission of the vacant Assin North seat and requested the Commission to take “appropriate consequential action as required by law”.
This was after the Supreme Court had nullified the election of James Gyaakye Quayson who until the ruling on May 17 occupied the seat.
The Supreme Court in its ruling said that he had not renounced his Canadian citizenship when he filed to be elected and subsequently got elected as an MP.
