“Assembly Members Should Accept KMA MCE Nominee”

Head of Operations at Kejetia Market, Mr. Ahmed Kwarteng, has advised assembly members of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to accept and vote for the President’s nominee, Hon Sam Pyne, as the Metropolitan Chief Executive ( KMA).
“It is sad for the Government to ignore KMA in terms of sanitation but assembly members’ idea of voting against the nominated Mayor will never solve the problem. We are pleading with them to find another means of solving it amicably”, he said.
He made the appeal on Opemsuo Radio on Monday, September 20, 2021.
According to the Head of Operations, the delay in the Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assembly Executives appointment has greatly affected the progress of the Assembly hence the need for Assembly members to accept the President’s nominee.
According to Him, the administration of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly will never be easy as with an accumulated judgment debt so the Government should also consider and pay the said debt.
“Traders in Kumasi are willing to work with the nominated Mayor for a better Assembly”, he added.
