Asenso Boakye’s Appointment As Roads Minister is Good News to Asanteman
During a panel discussion on Opemsuo Radio’s Nkwantannanso with Kofi Boakye, the Managing Editor of the New Trust Newspaper, Isaac Amoah, expressed optimism about Francis Asenso Boakye’s reassignment as the Minister of Roads and Highways, seeing it as positive news for Asanteman.
Amoah emphasized that this development signifies potential improvements to the poor road infrastructure in the Ashanti Region.
He referenced longstanding rumours suggesting that regions associated with prominent political figures often receive better infrastructure attention, citing President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and former Finance Minister Ofori Atta’s origins from the Eastern Region as an example.
“They said in the Eastern Region, even cemeteries have good roads because Ofori-Atta and Akufo-Addo are from there.”
“Asenso Boakye has been made Road Minister with immediate effect, hence Asanteman, any bad roads, from Mankraso to Tepa, it is not being used because of the dust. Those roads should be repaired. The IMF money they should bring some to fix Kumasi roads.”
He commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for initiating the much-awaited ministerial reshuffle.
In the recent reshuffle announced by the Jubilee House on Wednesday, February 14, thirteen sector ministers and thirteen deputy ministers were affected.
