Asenso Boakye Takes Charge Of Speed Ramp Fixing; While Urban Roads Makes The Move – Assembly Man Reveals

The Assemblyman for Bohyen Electoral Area, Hon. Frank Boateng has revealed that the Member of Parliament for Bantama Constituency, Hon. Francis Asenso Boakye has taken charge in fixing speed ramps on the Abrepo Junction-Barekese main road especially at the frontage of the Islamic SHS while the Urban Roads has also made the move to embark on the project.

Last week, a demonstration was organized by the students of Islamic SHS which resulted in clashes with the police leaving many injured, unconscious and hospitalized.

According to the Assembly member, the MP has assigned a contractor from the nation’s capital Accra to survey and begin the project as soon as possible to answer the demand of the school as well as prevent the rampant knockdowns accidents at the frontage of the school.

Hon. Frank Boateng stated that, Urban Roads’ engineer for the Bantama Sub Metro has shown the move to fix the speed ramp and even extend it to as far as Akoko Sparse. Meanwhile, the institution could not provide a speed ramp rope which cost only GHC 300 to be fixed in front of the school. The Assemblyman insisted that it took the IGP himself in providing for the temporary one fixed at the school’s frontage.

He mentioned that the hospitalized students have all been discharged and doing well. He indicated that the level of visits by individuals and institutions to the school is becoming more and more, distracting the students’ learning process as exams is fast approaching.
