Asantehene to Ex President Mahama and the NDC: Conduct Insult Free Campaign
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has admonished former President His Excellency John Mahama and Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, flagbearer and runningmate of National Democratic Congress (NDC) respectively to run a decent campiagn ahead of the December 7 polls.
“Don’t insult, continue to be humble, do clear politics and propagate your message to the electorates”, the revered King counseled when the NDC flagbearer and his runningmate visited Manhyia Palace to introduce themselves as leaders of the NDC party.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who spoke through his Lindquist said, Ghana needs peace before, during and after the December 7 polls from all politicians across the divide which is the only way the people in the region and the country in general will get development.
“Ghana needs peace from you politicians. …this is what the people need from you and that is the only way they will get development”, the Asantehene told the NDC delegation
Earlier, the former President and NDC flagbearer, His Excellency John Mahama has assured Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the people in the Ashanti Region that the next NDC administration will complete abandoned government’s projects in the region and start new ones.
“Otumfuo, I can assure you that my next presidency, I will complete every abandoned projects in the region and construct new ones”, the former President promised before the King and other traditional rulers in the Region and subsequently introduced Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as his runningmate for the coming polls.
Among former President John Mahama’s entourage included NDC’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, former Ashanti Regional Minister, Samuel Sarpong as well as NDC Ashanti Regional Executives and other former government appointees.
