Asantehene Proud of Prempeh College

Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has expressed his pride in Prempeh College following yet another glory in the Global Robotic Competition this year.

His Majesty spilt all his joy and satisfaction with the second cycle institution as he stated that the students represent the light needed to brighten the country’s future and vehicle to hop onto the dynamic world now premised on technology.

He said this when the Robotic Club of the school led by its Management presented their prestigious accolades from the Global Robotic Competition to him at the Manhyia Palace on June 5, 2024, during the fourth Awukudae festival of the year.

Speaking for the delegation, the school’s Headmaster, Rev Lewis Asare, told Otumfuo the team won the Unknown Mission Challenge (UMC) with a perfect score of 100% and placed second in the World Game Challenge, also with a perfect score of 100%.

He explained, “Though we scored 100% in the World Game Challenge it was a tie with Taiwan and they took the first spot since they completed their project in a shorter time frame than ours.”

They thus brought home two trophies and got one more to decorate the Office of Otumfuo.

Their contestants were individually introduced to the King alongside the three trophies.

Otumfuo expressed his pride and joy at the achievement of the Ghanaians who faced stern competition from those from advanced countries and commended them for showing bravery and proving themselves also worthy.

“You are our future. The fact that you faced students from advanced countries and you prevailed means you are better than them. I am happy you didn’t fumble before them. I earlier said you are our future and that holds because what you did is related to technology and technology today holds the world.”

He also advised the boys to work hard as he commended the headmaster of the school as well as the trainers of the team.
