Asantehene Granted Unrestricted Access to Oguaa
Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has been granted unrestricted access to the Oguaa Traditional Area in the Central Region.
This was done symbolically by the Paramount Chief of the Oguaa Traditional Council, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, during a visit to his Palace by the 16th Occupant of the Golden Stool on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
The Asantehene took a detour to the Palace at Cape Coast South on his arrival in Central Region for an honorary doctorate degree from the University of Cape Coast on Thursday morning, in accordance with customs and tradition.
Otumfuo was accompanied by a contingent of eminent Asante traditional authorities and was welcomed by Osabarima, the Queen, Nana Ekua Abookye VI and other Oguaa Traditional chiefs.
After exchanging pleasantries as demanded by tradition, Osabarima presented Otumfuo with a key- a symbolic representation of unrestricted access to his land.
By this, he indicated that Otumfuo needs not to follow protocols to visit the land and can visit as and when he pleases.
As part of the Asantehene’s three-day visit to the Central Region, he will join the 2024 Oguaa Fetu Festival as the Guest of Honour on September 7, 2024.
In his interaction with Osabarima, Otumfuo emphasised the element of unity the invitation and his visit portray to the world and committed himself to making the 25th Anniversary remarkable.
