Asante Students Union Commits to Assist in Burial Preparations of Asantehemaa

The executives and members of the Asante Students Union (ASU) have offered to assist in the preparations for the burial of the late Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
The group, which promotes Asante culture and tradition, has committed to support the Manhyia Palace in whatever capacity may be required before, during, and after the burial.
It views this as a duty to the Kingdom and a test of their loyalty.
The executives made this known to the Manhyia Palace when they joined other sympathisers to condole with His Majesty the King on August 28, 2025.
“We received news of Asantehemaa’s demise and paid our respects during the one-week celebration; we’re here again to show our continued support. We also humbly avail ourselves for any service that would be required of us during the burial period.”
Among the delegation were Kwesi Knoadu, the President and Yaa Samaa, the Queen.
This is exactly a week after the One Week of the late Nana Konadu Yiadom III was observed.
Others included traditional authorities, Rev Dr Opuni Frimpong, a Lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr Gabriel Boakye, CEO of Anwiam Hospital, SIC Insurance PLC, Ghana Bar Association (GBA), Ashanti Regional Passport Office, Owabe Group and MTN Ghana.
