Asante Mamponghene Daasebre Osei Bonsu III Swears Allegiance to Otumfuo

The Occupant of the Silver Stool, Daasebre Osei Bonsu III, has sworn allegiance to the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
He succeeded Daasebre Osei Bonsu Osei II, who passed away in 2025.
At the first Asanteman Council meeting on January 19, 2026, his successor held forth a sword to pledge his unalloyed commitment and loyalty to the Occupant of the Golden Stool.
Prior to this, the Asantehene walked him through the good conduct, humility, selflessness and service of the late Daasebre Osei Bonsu III.

“Many times, issues came up that needed redress. I called him indoors to resolve them. Outdooring the issue would tarnish and disgrace me. Whenever he was at fault, I invited him, and he honoured promptly. Daasebre was respectful and obedient.”
To the new Chief, Otumfuo declared, “You are my grandson, and so you are my own, and so I rest my case. I know you were the confidant of Daasebre while he lived. I am aware.”
Taking the oath, Daasebre affirmed his commitment to the Asantehene as the Nwisiahene, Nifahene and Chief Warrior.
He pledged to secure victory to the Kingdom at all times he would lead a war.
