Another Gov’t E-levy Town Hall Meeting Hits This Thursday
The Government of Ghana will hold yet another town hall meeting on the Electronic Transactions Levy (E-levy), this time in the Northern Region of Ghana.
The still-counting town hall meetings on the yet-to-be passed policy or otherwise, are meant to win public support for the seemingly disputed policy.
The upcoming meeting will take place on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 1 pm at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale.
Speakers will be the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Shani Alhassan Saibu, the Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister, Mavis Hawa Koomson, and the Gushegu Constituency Member of Parliament, Alhassan Tampuli Sulemana.
This follows one at the Sekondi Youth Centre in the Western Region last week.
The speakers at the meeting included the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, Central regional Minister, Justina Marigold Assan, and the Member of Parliament for Sekondi, Andrew Egyapa Mercer.
Despite the general public’s outcry against the policy, President Akufo-Addo says he will do everything to get the policy passed.
