AMA Orders Shops To Close For Cleanup Exercise
The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has ordered all shops within its jurisdiction to close down to make way for a clean-up exercise.
The cleanup exercise is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 3, 2022.
Shops are to remain closed from 6 am to 10 am on Saturday.
Ashiedu Keteke, Ablekuma South and Okai Koi South Metropolitan Districts will be affected by the exercise.
In a statement, the AMA said “The Assembly is therefore urging all residents, corporate entities, traders and shop owners to comply with the directive and participate fully in the exercise to ensure a clean city in accordance with the AMA Sanitation Bye-law 2017 and the Operation Clean Your Frontage Bye-law which will be strictly enforced by Environmental Health Officers (‘Saman Saman’).”
