Aliko Dangote remains Africa’s richest man according to Forbes 2022 ranking.

The Nigerian businessman has a net worth of $13.9billion, an increase from $12.1 billion in 2021

The sixty-four-year-old and founder of Africa’s largest cement producing company is followed by 71-year-old Johann Rupert, a South African.

Johann Rupert has a net worth of 11 billion United States Dollars.

Forbes found 18 to be billionaires in Africa.

Billionaires from seven African countries made the list. South Africa and Egypt have the most, with five each, followed by Nigeria with three billionaires.

Forbes in a release noted that Africa’s wealthiest are richer than they have been in eight years.

It added that as a group, the continent’s 18 billionaires are worth an estimated $84.9 billion–15% more than twelve months ago and the largest combined tally since 2014 when there were 28 African billionaires.
