Mahama To Attend Burial Of Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III

President John Dramani Mahama will attend the burial rites of the late Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, in the middle of this month.

The President was represented at the One-Week Observation of the Queen by Vice President Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang.

However, he will journey to Kumasi next week to mourn with the Asante Kingdom.

This confirmation follows the official invitation of the Presidency to the event scheduled to take place from September 15-18, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace.

A delegation led by Amoamanhene Nana Agyenim Boateng delivered the invitation during a courtesy call on President Mahama at the Presidency in Accra.

President Mahama extended his heartfelt condolences to the Asantehene and Asanteman on the passing of the Asantehemaa, acknowledging the immense loss. The President assured the delegation of his firm intention to attend the funeral.

Nana Konadu Yiadom III passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 98.
