Akufo-Addo Reaches Out To King Charles
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reached out to the Monarch of the United Kingdom, King Charles III following the publication of his health condition on Monday.
The West African leader in a social media post extended his best wishes to the King.
“In these difficult times, our thoughts and prayers are with the British Monarch, his wife, Queen Camilla and the entire British Royal Family, and I join the global community in wishing him strength, courage, and a swift and complete recovery.”
On February 5, the Royal Family announced King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer.
He was diagnosed with the disease during a procedure for benign prostate enlargement.
A part of the statement said, “During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.”
He has already commenced a schedule for regular treatments, the statement said, adding that it will rule out public-facing duties from his schedules.
Meanwhile, it said the King will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.
It continued, “His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer.”
