Akufo-Addo Appointed AU Elections Observation Mission Chair to Republic of Congo

Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been appointed as the Chairman of the Elections Observation Mission in the Republic of Congo.
He will lead the rest of the Mission to the country for the Presidential election in a few days.
The AU Election Observation Mission (AUEOM) will comprise members of the AU Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC), Pan African Parliament (PAP), African Governance Platform, election management bodies, independent election experts, civil society organisations, and representatives of women’s and youth groups.
The former President of Ghana is expected to leave Accra on Friday, March 13, and return on March 18, 2026.
“The African Union (AU) has appointed Ghana’s former President, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to lead its Elections Observation Mission in the Republic of Congo next week.”
Presidential elections are scheduled for March 15, 2026, in the Central African country.
