Afronita and Abigail Place Third at Britain’s Got Talent
Ghanaian dance duo Afronita and Abigail placed third in the final edition of Series 17 of Britain’s Got Talent (BGT).
Their breathtaking Ghanaian and African-originated performances featured tracks from Reggie ‘n’ Bollie, Fuse ODG and The Outhere Brothers.
The talented dancers once again impressed the audience and judges with their act as they received a standing ovation in the end.
Delivering her verdict while standing, Alesha Dixon felt they were worthy of her honour with the joy they brought to the show.
“I feel I need to stand just to tell you from the heart how much I love you, how much I have enjoyed you on this series. Every time you have been up you have been shining in all your glory. You are incredible. You are so special both of you and I feel the passion and how much this is to you.”
Bruno admired their energy on the stage and the tangible unity that exists between the two while performing.
“You go beyond dancing. You are the music, your body becomes the rhythm. It is magical plus I feel two hearts beating as one. We are all in love with you.”
For her part, Amanda Holden classified them as amazing.
Meanwhile, Simon acknowledged the duo’s ability to win the hearts of the audience with their crafts and commended Afronita’s exceptional mentorship and Abigail’s dance talent amid her hearing impairment.
“You know what I did the other day, I replayed your performance and I turned the volume down because I wanted to feel what it was like to do this without listening to the music and it was the most unbelievable feeling. You are so good and you do this without being able to hear the music properly.
“And you {to Afronita} are the most amazing mentor and I think both of you are the most wonderful people. I think after that performance and everything that you have done throughout the competition, you’ve really given yourself a shot of willingness.”
The two emerged as second runner-up in the competition.
