A/R: Step Aside For Investigations; Regional Minister to Kejetia Market Management

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon Frank Amoakohene, has directed the current management of the Kumasi City Market (KCM), popularly known as the Kejetia market, to vacate the post.
The order was issued after a series of meetings with the management of Market and Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly which discussed various Issues concerning Sanitation, Utility Bills and other general services.
According to a statement issued by the Minister on March 23, the decision is to make way for investigations into petitions from stakeholders and traders raising concerns about the management of the market.
“This decision is aimed at facilitating an investigation into the allegations to ascertain the veracity of the claims.”
The Regional Minister has since established an Interim Management Committee comprising Prince Ofori Atta- Chairman, Amoah Prince Nyarko- Operations Manager and Nana Prempeh Amankwaa – Security.
It added, “Please kindly make available all necessary documents within your custody to assist the said Committee to carry out this exercise as mandated. Counting on your co-operation.”
