A/R: Conflict Among School Feeding Caterers Resolved- Management

The Management of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) has reported the amicable resolution of the conflict over the award of catering contracts in the Ashanti Region.

Catering service providers in the region got into a dispute that escalated into threats of physical violence

A statement by the Management on June 17, 2025, said a meeting had been convened with the Deputy General Secretary for NDC, Hon. Barbara Asamoah, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Frank Amoakohene and the feuding parties in Kumasi to assess the root of the conflict.

“During the meeting, it became evident that the misunderstanding was largely due to unclear initial expectations and communication gaps. With all viewpoints considered, the visiting team together with the Ashanti Regional Minister- Hon. Frank Amoakohene facilitated a constructive discussion that led to a mutual agreement on how to go about the issues in a peaceful atmosphere.”

Reporting on the success of the engagement, it said the parties have since committed to clearer communication and cooperation going forward.
