Ken Ofori Atta To address Ghanaians Today
Head of the Finance Ministry of Ghana, Ken Ofori Atta is expected to address Ghanaians on measures taken by the government to alleviate hardship in the country.
The address is scheduled for today, March 24, 2022, at 1 p.m.
The address will be in the form of a press briefing, according to a notice released by the Ministry.
“Join the Finance Minister as he addresses and explains in detail the measures tailored to mitigate the current economic challenges and other issues”, the flyer was captioned.
“The Minister for Finance is going to have major engagement with the nation on Thursday where he is going to be in the position to lay out specifically the measures that we have taken or we intend to take to correct or put the ship of sail better”, President Akufo-Addo said at meeting with Council of State members at the Jubilee House in Accra on Tuesday, March 22.
Ghanaians are eager to hear what measure the government is taking to address the price hikes sponsored by incessant increases in fuel prices and the depreciation of the cedi to the dollar.’
Already, the Bank of Ghana has increased policy rate from 14.5% to 17% and has reset Cash Reserve Ratio, Capital Conservation Buffer, Capital Adequacy Ratio, and Other Loans Exceptionally Mentioned (OLEM) to pre-pandemic levels.
