Nima-Mamobi Clash: 8 Accused Persons Granted ¢80k Bail Each
An Accra High court presided over by Rosemary Baah Torsu has granted bail to eight of the twelve accused persons standing trial for allegedly engaging in gangsterism on January 18 at Nima.
The eight were granted bail to the tune of GHC 80,000.00 bail with two sureties each. They are to report twice weekly to the Nima Divisional Police Command and sign a bond to be of good behaviour.
The eight are; Abdul Gafaru Maham, Ibrahim Moro al, Atarouwa Bassam, Abdul Mumuni Gariba, Mohammed Saabi Barinu, Bashiru Ganiru and Illiasu Salim Issa Seidu.
The accused persons are facing three counts of criminal offences including rioting with weapons, conspiracy to riot with weapons, and causing harm to two.
Four others were denied bail on the basis that they would interfere with the police investigation.
Meanwhile, leaders of the two rivalry groups that clashed are at large.
The court will resume sittings on February 15, 2022.
