Ghana Scores 43 In 2021 Corruption Perception Index
Ghana has scored 43 out of 100 in Transparency International’s 2021 rankings of some 180 countries.
This places Ghana as the 73rd most corrupt country globally.
The score of Ghana means Ghana has “a serious corruption problem” and has made no progress in the fight against corruption in the public sector.
In the 2020 CPI report, Ghana scored 43 and ranked 75th.
Per the report, Denmark, New Zealand, and Finland are perceived to be the least corrupt countries in the world at a score of 88 each and ranking number 1.
South Sudan is the most corrupt country globally with eleven marks and the 180th, the report revealed.
The NGO says this year’s Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) reveals that corruption levels are at a worldwide standstill.
“This year, the global average remains unchanged for the tenth year in a row, at just 43 out of a possible 100 points. 131 countries have made no significant progress against corruption in the last decade.
“Two-thirds of countries score below 50, indicating that they have serious corruption problems, while 27 countries are at their lowest score ever”, Transparency International said.
The Corruption Perception Index (CPI) ranks countries by their perceived levels of public sector corruption.
