Kejetia Market: Traders’ Shops, Administrative Offices Re-opened

 
Chairman of the Kejetia Traders Association, Nana Prempeh has confirmed both shops of traders and Offices of management at the new Kejetia Market which were locked up three days ago have been re-opened.
 
On Tuesday, October 5, 2021, management of the Kejetia Market locked up shops of some traders who are believed to owe electricity bills.
 
In reaction to this, affected traders stormed the administrative block and locked up the offices, threatening not to re-open until theirs were.
 
According to the traders, the management of the market isn’t mandated to lock up their shops over the bill.
 
In an interview on Opemsuo 104.7 FM, Nana Prempeh said they won’t rescind their decision on the non-payment of electricity bills until management assent to their request for private electric meters.
 
Traders complain they are challenged with exorbitant electricity bills which hinder them from breaking even.
