“NSS Posting Not Out”

Dr. Gifty Oware Aboagye, the Acting Executive Director of National Service Scheme has trashed claims that 2021/2022 NSS postings have been released.
Speaking on GTV Breakfast show, Dr. Oware Aboagye said the service was involved in an interface test which has created the impression that the postings have been released.
‘It’s not true posting has been released. At first when we released postings, we sent SMS to all our personnel. What happened was last night, as we were trying to see how our interface looks like; there was the opening of the interface. Obviously, there are still national service personnel who are always online trying to check if it was so, in the course of the process some (those with the NSS number and the details) of them saw it”, she said.
A tweet from NSSgh says “The NSS posting you are seeing is a system check one; we shall release the official posting on Wednesday” but Dr. Oware Aboagye said it is not genuine and noted that “the only NSS page we have on Twitter is NSS which has no ‘GH’.”
As to why the postings have delayed this year, she said, “Most schools have still not been able to complete and our process commences when schools complete. When you check our Act 426, you cannot do National Service whiles you are still in school. You are supposed to be a graduate before you do service so it is obvious the same effect it had on academic is what we are facing.”

She assured that National Service postings will take place when all schools complete their final examination.
“There will be National Service. All our processes are done, we are only waiting for schools to say they are done then we can proceed and then National Service commences. Most schools have started completing, some are having their exam. We have been having stakeholder meetings trying to see how best to do it. We cannot have people in school having their service”, she said, revealing that 120,000 registered for National service this year.
She also rubbished claims that part of the NSS allowance will be channeled toward the construction of the National Cathedral.
