Disregard it with the needed contempt – Mr. Tinkorang to alleged LGBTQ authorities sample of some hospitals

The Ashanti Regional Health Director, Mr. Emmanuel Tinkorang has refuted claims that some Canadians have sampled two hospitals in the country to treat it’s members.
It is alleged that the group is sampling some hospitals in the Ashanti region to give special health care services to members of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBTQ).
It is also alleged that the sampling began after the Canadian Ambassador donated a total of eight million United States dollars to the Ashanti Regional Health Service.
Mr. Tinkorang, in an interview on Opemsuo radio’s Nkwantananso show denied the allegations.
“I haven’t heard anything about that and there is nothing like that in the Ashanti region. As far as I am concerned, there is nothing like that in my sector.
It might be going on in other private hospitals but not mine. No one has sent us any letter on that neither has anyone undergone any training for that with respect to Ghana Health Service facility.
“We should disregard it with the contempt needed”, he said
With regards to the donated sum of money from the Canadian government, he admitted but noted that it was for a COVID-19 project.
“The Canadian government wants to help Ashanti region with eight million dollars($8,000,000). The money is meant for a COVID project.
“Many people contract the disease from our hospitals due to their state. The money is meant to put our hospitals in good shape in order to prevent people from contracting the disease. We have named the project Ashanti Region COVID response.
“We will use the money to train our health workers on ‘Infection Prevention Control’ (what is termed as Capacity building), we will procure some equipments needed by our personnel, we will also provide water for facilities which lack and improve sanitation; (what is called Water, Sanitation and Hygiene).
