Otumfuo Community Reading Challenge Registration To Start On Monday

Otumfuo Charity Foundation is set to register Junior High School students within Kumasi Metropolis for the community reading challenge on Monday, 2nd November 2020.

Otumfuo community reading challenge aims to wheeze the love of reading into Junior High School students as a way of equipping students to mark the studies with superlatives.

The program which will be rewarding will at the same time create a non-threatening environment for the pupils to broaden their horizons as they read different characters and encounter new words.

A child’s reading skills are important to their success in school as they will allow them to access the breadth of the curriculum and improve their communication and language skills. In addition, reading can be a fun and imaginative time for children, which opens doors to all kinds of new worlds for them. 

Otumfuo Charity Foundation has played a monumental role in the era of the novel COVID-19 pandemic to provide a soothing platform for school children to learn while at home.

In an exclusive interview with Godwin Donkor, Administrative Manager for Otumfuo Charity Foundation, he said, “the resolve to initiate this Otumfuo Community Reading Challenge is to inculcate the love for reading into the school pupils who are at home in the era of COVID-19 pandemic. Though a challenge, its sole aim is to create a unique platform for learning.”

He reckoned that the registration is without a cost and open to all those within Kumasi Metropolis.

“Registration is free to all JHS Students who are still at home. And interested people can come to Opemsuo radio to pick their forms.”


Otumfuo community reading challenge is set to start in January next year 2020.
