We’re Ready for Chad and Madagascar Battles- Captain Ayew

Captain of the Black Stars, Jordan Ayew, says the team stands ready to battle it out with Chad and later Madagascar for the three points in the ongoing 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Speaking to the press on the first day of training after camp opened on Monday, the Leicester City winger promised to give their all for the desired results.
“I want to thank everyone for coming to show your support, me and my teammates we can assure you that we are ready, we are ready for the battle. And we will give our all, I know the first task is on Friday and we will make sure that we get the three points.”
Meanwhile, he urged fans to come in their numbers in support of Friday’s game against Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium.
He believes the support will go a long way in motivating them to secure all points.
“We know that we are in a difficult situation but we will turn it around and when I see you guys standing here I know that definitely it is going to be a positive result on Friday. So I want to thank you guys on behalf of my teammates and hopefully, on Friday we will all be happy about the result.”
The Black Stars will travel to Morocco after Friday to face Madagascar in another Group I match on Monday, March 24, 2025.
Ghana is currently second in Group I with nine points from four matches after securing three wins and one defeat, levelling them with Comoros.
The 23-member squad led by captain Jordan Ayew includes three home-based players: Benjamin Asare of Accra Hearts of Oak, Kamaradini Mamudu of Medeama SC and Razak Simpson of Nations FC as well as Thomas Partey, Kamal Deen Sulemana, Jerry Afriyie, Christopher Bonsu Baah, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Joojo Wollacot, Benjamin Asare and Gideon Mensah.
Also included are Ebenezer Annan, Mohammed Salisu, Jerome Opoku, Alexander Djiku, Jonas Adjetey, Razak Simpson, Kingsley Schindler, Elisha Owusu, Abu Francis, Mohammed Kudus, Ernest Nuamah, Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams and Christopher Bonsu Baah.
