You Have Bloggers But I Have God; Mercy Chinwo to Former Manager

Nigerian gospel musician Mercy Chinwo is encouraged that her God will deliver her from the hands of her former Manager, Dr. Ezekiel ThankGod who has “determined to destroy” her.

She shared her side of the brewing litigation with Dr ThankGod which has transitioned to social media in a video posted on her Facebook page on Tuesday.

Mercy in the video accused the CEO of Eezee Conceptz of bully, oppression and vowing to unmake her with his influence, resources and command over the social media space.

“He looked at me and said ‘I made you who you are and I will destroy you’. I became scared for my life. It came to a point where I had to move from Lagos to Port Harcourt because this man made the environment toxic for me. I’ve endured bully, and threats and whatever he is doing on social media now is nothing compared to what I went through.

“This is not to paint him bad…You bullied me, threatened my life and said you made me who I am and you will destroy me… How many lawyers have you changed now because you said you were going to deal with me, you have connections and money…You seized my contracts for two years. You are a bully. You are an oppressor”

However, the mother of one postulated, “You are not God and you cannot destroy me. You have bloggers and I have God. The worst you can do is what you are doing. I know that God will not let your plans come to pass for His thoughts for me are of good and not of evil.”

Suit
The owner of the Christian record label has accused the “Excess Love” crooner of dragging him to court to take ownership of her music catalogue, despite having received significant financial compensation from the label.

However, according to Mercy, the contrary happened.

“A man said I sued him, came online and made videos to tarnish my image… He took me to court and came online to tell the public I took him to court…You took myself and Minister Judikay to court and here you come to play the victim.”

Genesis
Mercy who rose to fame under the label said the contention began when she refused to extend her contract with Eezee.

“We signed a management contract in 2017. As we progressed you tried to convince me to sign a 12-year contract which I said ‘no’. Since then you started acting funny and always toxic because I did not extend the contract.”

According to her, Dr ThankGod forged a new document in an astonishing move after their first contract expired.

“Immediately after my contract {expired}, I discovered you forged a new contract. Please tell the world about what happened to the 2017 and the 2019 contracts. You seized my contracts for two years.”

In tears, she furthered, “One of my major crimes was when I did a song with Ps Nathaniel Bassey. Because this man hates Ps Nathaniel Bassey, he went as far as sponsoring fake news about an innocent child, my son, saying my son wasn’t mine. You paid bloggers.”

Faithful Servant
In her emotional submission, she wondered how she had offended her former boss to endure persecution from him, affirming that she faithfully served him.

“What did I do? What have I done to you? I took you as a father. I was once your backup singer. I served you diligently.”
