GES Announces Dates for 2025 BECE and WASSCE

The Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the official dates for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

It was conveyed in a letter dated January 24 by Prince Charles Agyemang-Duah, the Director of the Schools and Instructions Division to Regional Directors of Education.

Per the letter, Junior High Schools will sit for the BECE from June 9 to 16, 2025 while Senior High/Technical Schools will sit for their WASSCE from August 4 to September 19, 2025.

“The West African Examinations Council will communicate the period for the registration of candidates for the respective examinations to the heads of schools in due course,” he noted.

The Regional Directors of Education were also directed to communicate the information to Metropolitan/Municipal/District Directors of Education to inform all Heads of Basic and Senior High Schools to take note and prepare the candidates for the examination.
