Young Man Gifts Asantehene and Lady Julia Electric Portraits
A young man by the name Kwame Owusu has invented electric image portraits of the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and his wife, Lady Julia.
The portraits- one of the Asantehene and the other of Lady Julia- are each annexed with a power cord, light bulbs, a Bluetooth speaker, and a USB port to charge phones.
It took him three months to complete the innovation which was presented to the Manhyia Palace on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
The portraits were received by Nana Aduboffuor Kwaw II, Otumfuo Buabasa, on behalf of the Asantehene.
In the presence of the traditional leaders, he connected his phone and played some Kwadwom with his innovation.
In an interview with opemsuo.com, the young man professionally an Aluminum fabricator said his innovative ability is innate.
However, he intends to capitalize on it.
“It’s a God-given talent. People just make the portraits but I decided to be innovative so that indoors, you can connect your phone to it and use it for social media and receive calls. It has a charging slot for phones and it can also play music.”
By gifting the King a prototype of his invention, he seeks to get his blessings to venture into commercial and large-scale production within the country and beyond.
“I did the first set for the Asantehene so that I can receive his blessings to begin it commercially.”
