Police Thank Motorists For Cooperation During Mahama Inauguration

The Ghana Police Service has expressed gratitude to motorists and the general public for their cooperation in traffic diversions that were instituted to facilitate the swearing-in ceremony of President John Dramani Mahama.

During the event on January 7, the affected routes included Ako Adjei Interchange through the AU Roundabout, State House, Osu Cemetery Traffic Light, Accra Sports Stadium, the Independence (Black Star) Square, Ministries Traffic Light, Customs Headquarters Traffic Light area and the Gamel Abdul Nasser Avenue.

In a statement, the police lauded the public for their efforts to comply with all interim road closures and other measures.

“We particularly thank the motoring public for their patience during the temporary road closures and road diversions in Accra during the event.”

It used the occasion to assure the public of their resolve to uphold peace, security, law and order.
