Akufo-Addo Grateful to Ghanaians For His “Greatest Honour”
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed his gratitude to Ghanaians for delivering him the mandate to serve them, a mandate he characterizes as his “greatest honour”.
In his Christmas message posted on his Facebook page on December 24, the outgoing President said, “Thank you”.
“As I approach the conclusion of my tenure, as your President, I want to speak from the heart and say, Thank you. Serving as the leader of our country has been the greatest honour of my life.”
He touted his achievements in the various sectors of the economy as “remarkable milestones”.
“Together we have achieved remarkable milestones. We’ve expanded access to education, strengthened the health care system, invested in infrastructure, revitalised agriculture, accelerated the industrial transformation of the economy and worked tirelessly to secure a brighter future for our children. These achievements are not mine. They are yours. They are proof of the resilience and resolve of Ghanaians everywhere.”
He also wished the next government well in his administration.
In his final wording, he said, “Having come to an end of my tenure as President and preparing to step into the next chapter of my life, I leave you with this thought: Ghana is a nation destined for greatness.
“Let us protect her peace, cherish her unity and nurture her progress. Together, guided by the light of hope and the spirit of love, we can achieve extraordinary things.”
