N/R: One Person Shot Dead

One person has been shot dead at Nyankpala in Tamale in the Northern Region.

This was announced by the police in a press statement issued on December 7, 2024.

It is unknown if the incident is connected to the elections but four people have since been arrested by the police.

These suspects have been identified as Majid Issah, Fodi Issiage Kamara, Yakubu Simalia and Alhaji Bashiru Mohamed.

The suspects are in custody and assisting the Police investigation.

According to the police, one person sustained an injury in the process.

“The injured victim is currently receiving medical care, while the body of the deceased is taken to the morgue for preservation and autopsy.”
