Four Dead, 47 Others Trapped in an Accident at Fufulso
Four people have died in a collision with a Cargo Truck at Mile ’40’ near Fufulso in the Central Gonja district of the Savannah Region.
The intensity of the collision left both vehicles mangled, trapping the 47 other passengers on board on November 21, 2024.
The deceased were drivers of both vehicles and two passengers of the bus, according to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
“Preliminary investigation to ascertain the actual cause of the accident revealed that the bus driver left his lane to overtake but was unsuccessful and collided with the oncoming vehicle head-on in the process,” it said in a statement.
Officers of the GNFS led by STNO I Prince Edzziegbe responded to the accident scene to rescue the victims.
“Upon arrival, the crew observed that a Yutong Bus and a Cargo Truck were off the road and mangled together with some passengers trapped.”
The victims were handed over to the Police Service and the Ambulance Service personnel at the scene, it said.
