Leicester Inconclusive on Jordan Ayew’s Availability After Injury
Leicester City are still monitoring Jordan Ayew for his availability to the club despite ruling that he did not suffer a serious injury while on international duty.
Manager Steve Cooper confirmed his condition is not as bad as was earlier reported by Ghana.
“Ayew’s condition is not as bad as feared after also picking up an injury on international duty. Jordan has come back injured from international duty. It’s not a serious injury contrary to some reports,” he said in a statement.
He is hoping the 33-year-old will be available for this weekend’s fixture as his availability is not certain yet.
“The hope is he may be available for the weekend but we’re a little bit inconclusive on that for the minute.”
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) reported that the forward sustained an injury during Ghana’s game against Angola on November 15 in Luada.
It added, “Although Ayew completed the game, MRI scans in Accra revealed significant issues with his knee.”
