Kumasi Evangel Choir Receives Certificate for Excellent Evaluation Performance
At the just-ended Internationales Chorfest Magdeburg in Germany, the sensational Ghanaian choral group, Kumasi Evangel Choir-Ghana, was awarded an Excellent Evaluation Performance certificate.
This was in recognition of their delightful and heartwarming performance as the team performed alongside numerous groups from all over the world.
The late summer event which ended over the weekend was held at the birthplace of Baroque composer Georg Philipp Telemann and was a platform for choral groups across the world to connect and share their love of music.
The Chorfest Magdeburg was complemented by an international INTERKULTUR choir competition, creating a unique opportunity for choirs to meet, sing together and learn from each other.
The Kumasi-based choir continued their Europe tour this year with a visit to Stockholm, Sweden.
Mission
Kumasi Evangel Choir- Ghana leverage their God-given talent and passion for music to purposely create awareness about childhood cancer as well as solicit support in diverse forms for children with cancer in Ghana.
“Our mission is to create awareness about childhood cancer. Through our performances, we raise funds for donation to the Childhood Cancer Ward at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH),” the Music Director of the Choir, Dr Albert Adusei Dua relayed.
He said the group has been into this for the past eight out of its 12 years of existence.
