Ghanaian Musicians Asked to Submit Craft for US Exchange Programme
The United States of America (USA) is asking Ghanaian artists to submit their crafts through an application to OneBeat.
Ghana is among 54 eligible countries whose musicians can apply to partake in the U.S.-based music exchange programme scheduled in April/May, 2025.
Application was opened on August 6 and will end on September 6 for all genres. The notice was put out by the United States Embassy in Ghana.
Applications will be reviewed to select 15 participants
OneBeat is an initiative of the U.S. Department of State, in partnership with the non-profit organization Bang on a Can’s Found Sound Nation.
Launched in 2012, it began as an annual U.S-based residency and tour programme that brings early-career musicians together from around the globe to collaboratively write, produce and perform original music, and develop strategies for arts-based civic and social engagement.
Over the past ten years, it has grown from one annual U.S.-based residency and tour programme to a constellation of year-round initiatives, including residencies and tours in countries around the world, a virtual residency, an artist-industry incubation program, a podcast, a development and training institute, and a schools curriculum.
One Beat is the gathering place for the musical leaders of the 21st century – an incubator for music-based social entrepreneurship, where innovative musicians from around the world launch collaborative projects designed to make a positive impact on local and global communities.
