E/R: NDC Suspends Unsuccessful Parliamentary Aspirant

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended Kpeli Worlase, a key member of the party in the Eastern Region for engaging in alleged anti-party conduct.

A letter by the General Secretary of the party, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey informed him about his suspension ahead of a hearing by a Disciplinary Committee.

According to the letter, the decision to suspend him was taken by the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) during a meeting.

The two-time unsuccessful Afram Plains North Constituency Parliamentary aspirant in the Primaries of the NDC is among other things accused of campaigning against their elected candidate, Betty Krosbi Mensah.

“At its meeting on the 23rd of July, 2024, FEC deliberated on the matter and decided to suspend you from the party pursuant to Article 48 of the Party’s constitution and subsequently refer the matter to the National Disciplinary Committee for adjudication. You are therefore suspended from the Party with immediate effect.”

He is scheduled for a hearing before a committee at which time he has been offered the opportunity to absolve himself of all blame.

“The Disciplinary Committee will invite you for a hearing and it will be in your best interest to avail yourself for adjudication to enable the Committee to submit a report with recommendations to FEC for further action.”
