Macbones Defeats Labaran with Asantehene’s Blessings
Ghanaian lightweight boxer Seth Gyimah, popularly known as Freezy Macbones has recorded his fourth professional victory against 44-year-old Ibrahim Labaran under the sponsorship of the blessings of the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
In a bout staged at the Bukom Arena in Accra on Saturday, June 29, 2024, Macbones registered his victory through a technical knockout in the fourth round.
The professional boxer who has lost nine out of his 24 bouts sustained a shoulder injury that plunged him down as he reeled in pain and signalled disinterest in ending what he started.
The lightweight contest under the maiden edition of the ‘Power of the Fists’ therefore ended in favour of Macbones despite his struggles in the bout.
The 34-year-old has now won all four professional bouts.
Manhyia Blessings
The sensational boxer joined the last Akwasidae festival at the Manhyia Palace to pay homage to the King.
He used the occasion to request the prayers of Otumfuo over his boxing gloves, a request that was granted.
His Majesty took the gloves and prayed over them and he handed them back to him. The boxer also had the rare privilege of getting the King to lay hands on him and pray for him.
Macbones, while making his way out of the crowd, put the gloves on and beamed with joy as his greatest wish had been fulfilled.
