Bono Chief Renews Allegiance to Asantehene
The Chief of Fiapre Traditional Council in the Bono Region, Obrempong Professor Kyem Amponsah II, has announced their comeback to Asanteman, renewing his people’s association with one of the biggest Kingdoms in the world.
During the fifth Akwasidae festival of the year on June 23, 2024, the Chief thanked His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for accepting him back into his fold after his predecessors stopped paying homage to him.
“We are here to thank Otumfuo for lifting my town and accepting us as part of his realm once again after my predecessors failed to pay homage here.”
He said he thought it wise and imperative to return to his source of power after his enstoolment a few years ago.
“When I was enstooled six years ago, I deemed it right to come back and Otumfuo was so gracious to us that he readily welcomed us. Thank you for accepting us as part of his children.”
Obrempong Professor Kyem Amponsah last year found his way back to the Asantehene along with his elders to request his acceptance.
On January 11, 2024, he took his oath of allegiance alongside Offinsomanhene, Nana Dwamena Akenten II before the Asanteman Council as he bore the Mponponsuo sword.
