Ghanaian Toddler Breaks Youngest Male Artist Record after Over 2 Decades

Ace-Liam Nana Sam Ankrah, a one-year-old Ghanaian has broken the world record for the youngest male artist, a record held by an American for 21 years.

Dante Lamb set the record in 2003 at the age of three. Ace-Liam was confirmed to have broken the record by the Guinness World Records in an email to his mother, Chantelle Eghan.

A part of the confirmation letter read, “We are thrilled to inform you that your application for Youngest Artist (male) has been successful and you are now the Guinness World Records Title Holder!”

The excited single mother announced the news at a press conference on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

Ace-Liam’s paintings use a technique which is done by manoeuvring acrylic paint across a canvas using the hands and body to create unique and abstract artworks.

Speaking to the media, Chantelle said she initially thought of paying for the expedited process to get his work reviewed; however, she opted out of the idea to invest the money in her son’s career.

“Initially we wanted to pay but then I was thinking this is someone who is an artist and as a single mom I needed the money to push him. I decided rather to use the money to pay for his artworks.”

She admitted the process was not an easy one with a plethora of rules and regulations fashioned for persons who intend to break them.

After getting this record, Chantelle says she is looking to exploit other opportunities to position her son on the global front to make his in-built talent profitable.

“I want an opportunity to establish him internationally because our country is on a position where we think arts is for the rich.”

“I’m making plans to organise a solo exhibition for him where he has his whole artwork telling his story from the crawl. We didn’t sell his 6-month painting because my long-term plan is to have his own personal collection of artworks every month of his life and every painting to show his progress and journey up into 2.”
