Miss Universe Ghana Poised To Wear Ghana’s First Miss Universe Crown
The 2022 winner of Miss Universe Ghana, Miss Engracia Afua Agyemang Mofuman has demonstrated her readiness to become the first Ghanaian contestant to wear the Miss Universe Crown.
According to her, she going to the global stage with the spirit, resilience and personality of Nana Yaa Asantewaa to display her boldness and readiness to represent and defend Ghana on the Miss Universe stage and also as a symbol to empower women around the world to soar higher.
“I believe in womanhood, I believe that women are strong as much as men, and Yaa Asantewaa is a symbol of that, she is a symbol of strength for women. So, I chose Yaa Asantewaa as a symbol to empower women that they can do it, they are strong. If Yaa Asantewaa was able to do it then times, then we can do it now”, she said.
She said this in an interview with Opemsuo Radio yesterday when she paid a courtesy call to the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace and also sought the King’s blessing towards her journey next month.
She called on women to be more united towards their cause with a strong mindset.
When asked if she can win the maiden crown for Ghana, Miss Agyemang answered positively saying “I believe in God and I believe that everything is possible, there’s nothing like impossible. I believe that if I stand as one of the contestants I also stand the opportunity to win the pageant, so why not? Ghana can as well win it.
In particular, as Miss Universe 2022 draws to a close, she urged Ghanaians to support her as she sets off on her journey on the international stage.
“I am asking Ghanaians to please support, please vote, please make sure you follow and make sure we win this because it’s not about me, it’s about the whole nation. This is about our country we need to make sure the country is out there. Download the Miss Universe app, click on my picture there and then vote. The first vote is totally free. Please let’s support our country and let’s make sure we shine again”.
Miss Universe Ghana 2022, Engracia Afua K. Mofuman was crowned the new queen at the finale held on 21st December 2021. She represented the Ashanti region during the pageant and she emerged the overall winner in the end. In January she will travel to the USA to represent Ghana.She is a master’s degree holder in International Relations and Diplomacy. She speaks 4 international languages to her credit which include; English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
