Prez Ouattara Conveys “Good” News To Asantehene
The President of Cote d’Ivoire has conveyed good news to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II concerning an earlier invitation extended for his participation in the 25th Enstoolment Anniversary celebration of the king.
The said news, though not read out, was received by Otumfuo Hiahene, Prof. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei, on behalf of the King at the Manhyia Palace on April 22, 2024.
The President sent the letter-originally scripted in French but translated into English-by the hand of H.E. Félix Assielou Tanon, the Ivorian Ambassador to Ghana.
Handing over the letter, H.E. Assielou Tanon, through Josiane Kouassi, a translator, said, “Your Majesty, the news is good this morning. His Excellency Alassane Ouattara, his first son, has mandated me today to come here to convey a message to his father. His Excellency the President of Cote d’Ivoire was here some time ago for the celebration of Ghana’s Independence Day.”
“During this occasion, His Majesty received the President of Cote d’Ivoire in his Palace and also invited him for the celebration of his Silver Jubilee. On this occasion, he gave us this message for His Majesty.”
Although the message was not read out, it is highly anticipated that it will be an acceptance of the invitation, as the ambassador described it as good news.
The delegation from the Embassy of Cote d’Ivoire also included Ange Benié, the Head of the Administrative and Finance Department.
