Anyinasehene Swears Allegiance To Otumfuo

Nana Poku Ware, the chief of Anyinase, has sworn the oath of allegiance before the Occupant of the Golden Stool, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

He was presented to the King during the April 8 meeting of the Kumasi Traditional Council (KTC) by the Oyoko Division of the Council.

The former courtier of the Manhyia Palace took the oath, pledging his commitment, obedience and submission to the King on Monday.

Ahead of his oath, the Council gave favourable testimonies about him with the Kotri Division advising him to shun complacency and avail to the counsel of the elders of the town.

The Mmawere Division asserted that his humility earned him the elevation from the position of a courtier to a traditional authority and advised other courtiers to take a cue from his story.

“Though you have served for a while here and have acquired some experiences, your new position will come along with new challenges you would have to embrace bravely,” the Kyidom Division added.

For his part, Otumfuo challenged him to live up to the high expectations set for him.

“You have heard the testimonies they have given about you. You wouldn’t have earned this stool had you been the exact opposite. Make sure I do not regret.”

Taking hold of the sword, Nana Poku Ware swore, “For this great honour done me and my family, I will make sure my leadership honours and brings glory to him. Except in sickness, I will be before his sight when I am called upon at all times.”

Before his elevation to a chief, the royal of Anyinase was the Otumfuo Tromoo Akwasihene. This position was on Monday bestowed on his nephew, Nana Kwame Amo by Asantehene.

Nana Poku Ware as the chief of Anyinase will superintend over six communities including Ahenema Koben, Aburaso, Nwabe, Ampetia, Kokofu and Agric Aburase.
