Dumelo Takes Backward Barefooted Steps In Promise Fulfillment
Actor cum politician, John Dumelo has fulfilled his pledge to take backward steps barefoot upon his alma mater’s defeat to Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC) in the 2023 National Science and Maths (NSMQ).
On Tuesday, when it was time to fulfil his promise, he was flanked by reporters and bloggers as he took each step.
He walked from the University of Ghana’s main entrance to Presec’s administrative bloc.
Background
The actor took to social media last week to predict a win for his alma mater, Achimota School nicknamed MOTOWN in the final of the just-ended NSMQ over PRESEC.
The prediction was accompanied by a vow to undertake a backward barefooted walk from Ayawaso West Wuogon to PRESEC school if the opposite occurred.
“I am a proud Achimotan but If presec wins the #NSMQ2023 on the 31st I will walk barefoot backwards from Ayawaso West Wuogon to presec school! They can’t win over Motown! Presec? Tweeeaa!!!”
After PRESEC recorded its eighth victory on October 30 with MOTOWN coming second, Dumelo decided to honour his word stating, “I am a man of my words.”
“I will be walking backwards barefoot from the UG main gate to Presec main gate Tomorrow 31st Oct at 4 pm.”
